- Description
- The National Youth Tobacco Survey (NYTS) provides national data on long-term, intermediate, and short-term indicators key to the design, implementation, and evaluation of comprehensive tobacco prevention and control programs. Items measured as part of the NYTS survey include correlates of tobacco use such as demographics, minors' access to tobacco, and exposure to secondhand smoke. The NYTS provides nationally representative data about middle and high school youth's—Tobacco-related beliefs; attitudes; behaviors; and exposure to pro- and anti-tobacco influences.

- The NYTS is available for free on the website. The data is downloadable in SAS and Microsoft Access formats. In order to extract the data users must have Winzip in order to do so. Zip files include the dataset, format library and codebook, as well as the questionnaire and methodology report for each year.
