- Description
- The Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) Program at the National Cancer Institute (NCI) is the authoritative source of information on cancer incidence and survival in the United States. SEER collects data on cancer incidence and population data associated by age, sex, race, year of diagnosis, and geographic area. Sub-directories break the dataset in cancer sites, including breast, colon and rectum, female genitals, male genitals, lymphoma and leukemia, respiratory, and urinary. Data is collected yearly in November and is released the following spring. Data runs from 1973 to the present. Data Documentation provides information related to reporting and using SEER data. SEER*Stat and SEER*Prep software programs are available to analyze and convert the data as needed.
