- Description
- The Demographic and Health Surveys (DHS) Program uses nationally representative surveys, biomarker testing, and geographic location to collect data on monitoring and impact evaluation indicators for individual countries and for cross-country comparisons. There are several survey types used, including Demographic and Health Survey, Service Provision Assessment, HIV/AIDS Indicator Survey, Malaria Indicator Survey, and Key Indicators Survey. Data is available on over eighty countries.

- Registration is required to request dataset access . Each request needs to include a project title and a description of the analysis you propose to perform on the data, and the requested data should only be used for the purpose of the described project. Review of requests generally takes 24 hours during the work week. GPS, HIV, and biomarker datasets require additional forms and authorization. All datasets are distributed as compressed ZIP files. Data Tools and Manuals are also available to assist with using the data.
