Quarterly Workforce Indicators
Alternate Titles(s): QWI
UID: 10147
- Description
- Since 2003, the Quarterly Workforce Indicators (QWI) have been compiled by the Longitudinal Employer-Household Dynamics (LEHD) program at the U.S. Census Bureau using administrative records on employment by state, Social Security data, Federal tax records, as well as other census and survey data. The QWI provides detailed estimates of employment and earnings indicators at the local level, typically down to the county or metro area. Variables include estimated employment, earnings, gross job creation and destruction, and worker turnover. Data are available by industry, using 2012 North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) codes. The data are also available by worker age, sex, educational attainment, and race/ethnicity. Data specifically about healthcare workers are available.
