- Health Information National Trends Survey (HINTS) collects nationally representative data about the American public's use of cancer-related information. The survey collects information about cancer communication, cancer perceptions and knowledge, demographics, food and medical products information, health communication, health services, health status, internet use, medical research and medical records, numeracy, nutrition and physical activity, patient-provider communication, risk perceptions, skin protection, social networks, tobacco use, and specific types of cancer including breast cancer, cervical cancer, colon cancer, lung cancer, prostate cancer, and skin cancer. Data is available from the years 2003, 2005, 2008, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2015. Data collection is ongoing.
